The 90-meter high Pontsteiger building is located at the head of the Amsterdam houthavens. This height makes Pontsteiger the highest residential building in our capital. The special design of this building means that the building looks like a gate from one side, but has the shape of a chair from the side. The low building section consists of commercial spaces, while the high-rise U-shape consists of apartments and penthouses. With so many houses there is a lot of activity in the circulation areas. To limit the noise nuisance, a seamless acoustic ceiling has been applied. To allow the luxurious appearance of the penthouses to continue in the circulation areas, these have also been skilfully designed and the large lighting domes in particular are an eye-catcher.
